How to customize your Apple Watch default message responses

If Apple’s smart replies to Messages on the Apple Watch doesn’t include the right answer, you can create your own. Here are some ways to create custom responses that you can send directly from your wrist.

The Apple Watch is a companion device to the iPhone and offers all the basic features you need without having to take the iPhone out of your hand. This is especially true when it comes to phone calls and messages.

Because the Apple Watch is limited in its ability to manage text entry, it is likely that you will use one of Apple’s default responses when you need to respond quickly to a message. Although this is very useful, the options are quite limited.

Yes, there are questions about greetings, thanking people, saying “yes” and “no” and it’s possible to answer them in most cases. It doesn’t cover every eventuality.

Recommendations custom

It may be worth considering creating your own customized response to situations you deal with regularly. It can deal with that particular scenario with all the speed benefits of a default response and without you having to spend hours typing on your Apple Watch.

These could be useful, like directions (“Left” and “Right ,”), locations (“Living Room”) or commands (“Fill dishwasher”), but you don’t have to limit yourself to only constructive statements. You can also include greetings or insults.

It’s likely that it will be added to the default replies list if it’s something you send to people often.

All you need to send the message is an iPhone linked to the Apple Watch.

To delete the message, drag it to the right and then tap Delete.
