Apple has been working on rebranding iTunes Pass as “Apple Account Card” in the Wallet app with iOS 15.5, as 9to5Mac found earlier this year.
The Apple Account Card is now live and available to customers using the newest version of the operating system, despite the fact that it was not included in the official release notes for iOS 15.5.
Apple Account Card replaces iTunes Pass, a pass that allowed users to check their Apple ID balance by adding it to their Wallet app. Customers could buy things in Apple Retail Stores using a QR code on the pass.
Customers may now use their Apple ID balance as a standard Apple Pay card with the Apple Account Card instead of a pass. Instead of needing to display the QR Code when buying at an Apple Store, the customer may finish the transaction using Apple Pay.
Of course, the remaining amount may be used to purchase applications, movies, and Apple services.
Your account balance can be used to buy products, accessories, apps, games and more online or in store with Apple Pay.
Another advantage of the Apple Account Card is that it is now much easier to check the balance of your Apple ID. Unlike the iTunes Pass, which had to be manually added to the Wallet app via the App Store, the Apple Account Card appears in the Wallet app nearly immediately.
All you have to do now is hit the “+” button and then “Add Apple Account” to complete the setup.
It’s worth noting that the card will only display for customers who have any money in their Apple ID.
