Netflix on Wednesday began to roll out Spatial Audio support on its iPhone and iPad apps, offering users with compatible AirPods models an immersive listening experience when watching TV shows, movies and other content.
iOS 14 users can access Spatial Audio on their iPhones and iPads.
Netflix announced earlier today that 9to5Mac would receive the update in a press release. The feature might not be available to all users yet.
This feature is only available if the pair of compatible AirPods has been connected to your host device. To activate Spatial Audio and noise cancellation, open Control Center.
Netflix support is available only on AirPods Pro and Max.
Spatial Audio was introduced in June 2020 by Apple. It is Apple’s version of 3D audio for headphones.
Apple’s iOS 15 includes a feature called “Spatialize Stereo”. This simulates Spatial Audio for content that has not been recorded or mastered with Dolby Atmos.
