To improve selfies and video chats, Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will enhance the front-facing cameras on all four of its iPhone 14 models.
TFS analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in a tweet on Tuesday that the front camera on Apple’s iPhone 14 models might be upgraded to include autofocus (AF) and an aperture of roughly f/1.9. The iPhone 13’s f/2.2 aperture and fixed-focus (FF) would be a significant upgrade.

The front camera of four new iPhone 14 models in 2H22 would likely upgrade to AF (autofocus) & about f/1.9 aperture (vs. iPhone 13's FF (fixed-focus) and f/2.2).— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) April 19, 2022
For Portrait Mode and selfies, UO claims that autofocus and a lower f-number may give greater shallow depth-of-field. Additional benefits include an improved emphasis on video conversations and live streaming, he says.
Until further notice, it seems that the projection is not based on meaningful supply chain information. As a result, it seems that Kuo’s forecast here is mostly based on current market patterns.
If Apple doesn’t follow Kuo’s prediction, some people think Apple will remove the notch on the iPhone 14’s camera and make it into a pill-shaped or hole-punched cutout on the iPhone 14 Pro.
Rumors about the next iPhone 14’s rear-facing camera have also surfaced. According to sources and expert projections, the cameras will be increased to 48 megapixels.
If the gadget is equipped with a periscope or folding lens camera, the zoom capability might be improved. Despite these claims, the new camera system is expected to debut in 2023.
