Since the start of the year 2020, the use of live streaming has grown rapidly in popularity. There is a wide range of content available online, from chess to video games to music. It is feasible to become a successful live broadcaster on a Mac despite the fact that this is not the usual streaming computer.

In the past, have you ever dreamed about being a live streamer? Here are a few basic ways to get started with live streaming on YouTube or Twitch from your Mac.

YouTube

On YouTube, starting a live stream is a breeze. You don’t need to download any additional software and can simply use your browser to do this.

You must wait 24 hours after creating a channel before you may begin broadcasting live video. You’ll also need to authenticate your account immediately.

On your channel, tap the camera icon marked with a “+” symbol to begin taking a new photo (two icons to the left of your profile image).

When you click “Go Live,” you’ll be sent to the YouTube Studio. The webcam on your left should have basic stream settings like name, public/private, and even a schedule if necessary. You’re all set to go live now.

It’s easy to live stream from your Mac using Twitch’s own streaming software with the free Twitch Studio Beta app. You’ll need MacOS Mojave 10.14 or later to use it.

There are pre-made overlays for “Gameplay,” “Be Right Back,” and “Chatting” that you can utilize when you enter into your Twitch account. In addition, the app offers a few options for customizing the overlays. Twitch Studio includes built-in alerts, activity feeds, and chat.

With the beta version of Twitch Studio, you can use your Mac’s microphone and camera. Step-by-step instructions, hardware detection, and suggested settings are all included. The program even checks your internet connection before it begins.

Desktop audio capture allows you to stream directly from your browser or computer. There is no need for additional setting.

You may also use an iPhone or iPad as a screen share device for your live stream. You may need a side mount if you plan to stream from your iPhone.

If you’re just starting out as a streamer, you can start using the app in only a few minutes. Here’s where you can download the beta version of Twitch Studio for Mac.

Streaming can be done in a variety of ways, but these are just a few for novices. There are a plethora of software applications and tools you can use if you want to go more advanced.
