Apple released Release Candidate (RC) copies of iOS 15.5, macOS 12.4, tvOS 15.5, and watchOS 8.6 earlier today.
While the updates only provide small tweaks and enhancements, Apple has officially confirmed that the watchOS 8.6 update allows Apple Watch users in Mexico to use ECG and other health capabilities.
The ECG app allows users to do an electrocardiogram, which measures your heart’s electrical pulses.
There are also irregular rhythm notifications that monitor if your heart rate remains over or below the prescribed rate after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, had already implemented ECG and irregular rhythm notifications.
These features are now being introduced to Mexico.

There’s no news on when watchOS 8.6 will be given to the general public, although it might be as soon as next week.

The ECG app and unusual heart rhythm notifications both require an Apple Watch Series 4 or above.
