Apple releases another new slight AirTags firmware revision

Just eight days after releasing the last AirTags firmware update, Apple has done it again.

The new firmware version 1.0.291 (A1291e), is not yet known. Apple has also not released any documentation. The update will bring about bug fixes and other improvements to the product.

The past firmware was upgraded to the same version number but with a different build number — 1.0.291 (1A291c). Five days after the debut of the previous firmware, the last firmware was published.

The FindMy app can be used to determine the firmware version of your AirTags. Tap on the Devices tab, and then tap on one of the AirTags. To view the firmware version, tap the icon under the battery.

AirTags firmware updates cannot be forced, unlike the way users can update their operating systems on iOS, iPadOS or macOS.
