New users can now only get a free month of Apple Music if they buy a new Apple device that meets certain requirements. They can still get six months.
Almost three years ago, Apple Music looked like it was going to shorten its free trial period. Finally, it has done so.
Users who sign up for the service for the first time now get one month of free service instead of three months, but people who buy AirPods and other products still get six months.
Apple Music’s official terms and conditions now don’t say how long you have to use the service. There was a banner that said “Enjoy 3 months on us,” but now it says “Start your free trail today.”
They now say, “1 month free, then $9.99/month.”
