How to Take a Screenshot on Your iPhone?

Apple, from its humble beginnings, has blown up into a huge corporation, spanning several countries and racking up a net worth of more than a Trillion.

It is no wonder why iPhones have quickly become one of the best selling phones of all time.

It seems every time a new generation comes out, everyone rushes to buy it, and then we all struggle to find all the new features and tips and tricks.

Through the many generations and ever-changing features however, one thing has remained pretty unchanged. That thing is how you take a screenshot on an iPhone.

For those of you who do not know, a screenshot is essentially a picture of your screen, be it phone, tablet, or computer. Since your camera can capture pretty much everything except your phone screen, screenshots are important if you want to save what is on your screen for later.

When screenshotting on a phone, there is no control over what you are screenshotting, it will automatically capture the entire screen. You cannot designate what part of the screen you want to capture.

How to Take a Screenshot on Your iPhoneOf course, you can always go back to the screenshot once it is saved and easily crop or edit it if you do not want the entire picture of the screen, like the time or notification bar.

There are many reasons why you might want to take a screenshot. Maybe you have found a recipe you want to try but do not want to have to find it again, so instead, you take a screenshot so you can find it easily later on.

Or, maybe you stumble across a picture that you want to set as your background.

Taking a screenshot may be the quickest and easiest way to do so. Lastly, you may want to take screenshots of messages or conversations you have with people.

Whether it is to show to someone else (admit it, we all do it), or just to save for future reference, taking a screenshot is way easier than having to scroll back through dozens or even hundreds of messages to find the specific ones that you are looking for.

We’ve all found ourselves in the same position. We get a hilarious Snapchat and want to save it, but can’t.

The easy solution to this is to take a screenshot of the snap to save it for later.

However, you have to be able to move quick to get a screenshot of the snap, which is why it is important to follow these instructions carefully.

How to Take a Screenshot on Your iPhoneThe method I am about to show you can be used on any generation of iPhone. So, regardless of what iPhone you have, follow along and in no time, you will be able to snap and share your favorite screenshots with your friends.

Step One

The first thing you need to do is locate the power button. This should be pretty straight forward and intuitive.

The placement of the power button may vary depending on what iPhone you have, it may be on the top left, or on the right side. But no matter where it is never hard to find considering you use it all the time.

Step Two

Next, you will want to locate the home button. Regardless of what generation iPhone you have, the home button will be at the bottom, in the center, right under the screen.

Step Three

Once you have located both the power button and the home button, you will want to hold them both down at the same time.

If completed successfully, your screen should have a shutter effect and the screenshot will be saved to your gallery under the “screenshots” folder.

If you press one button sooner than the other, the screenshot will not be captured. It is important that you press both buttons at the exact same time in order to get the screenshot.

If you press the home button before the power button, you will just return home or pull up Siri.

On the other hand, if you push the power button too early, then you will just lock your phone.

In either of these situations, it can be extremely frustrating. It may take some practice before you are able to take screenshots quickly.

It is a tedious process at first and may take multiple tries, but eventually, you are sure to get it.

Once you have mastered this skill, you’re ready to start screenshotting as much as your heart desires. And the best part of learning to screenshot on an iPhone is that it’s not likely to ever change.

It has remained the same for years, throughout many generations, and will more than likely continue to remain the same.

So, if down the road, you get the latest and greatest iPhone, you will still know how to take screenshots. And if you forget, you can always come right back here and learn how to do it again.
